Q: Do tattoos hurt?
A: Yes. Depending on where you get it and how long it takes to get done, a tattoo is about as traumatic as a carpet burn. It should be treated accordingly. Some areas of the body, however, are more sensitive than others.

Q: Where can I get it where it won't hurt?

Q: Do you ever do free tattoos?
A: Yes. Under certain and unique circumstances. For example, if we have a current apprentice in training, we might offer free tattoos to you from them. Of course, this comes with your understanding that it is indeed an apprentice doing the tattoo and they are learning their craft. Occasionally, we also give free tattoos to really good customers, as well as our friends and families. And sometimes, we run promotions where you could win a gift certificate towards a tattoo.

Q: Is everything sterile?
A: Yes. All our needles are brand-new, sterile, and are single-use only. Our pigments are dispensed into single-use cups to guarantee that there is no chance of cross contamination. Between tattoos, our individual work stations are disinfected with powerful chemicals that kill anything that might harm you. We have several state-of-the-art autoclaves that are regularly tested and have backup units in case one breaks. Also, everyone in our shop—even the counter staff—are Red Cross certified in CPR, First Aid, and airborne and blood-borne pathogens.

Q: Do you work by appointments? Take walk-ins?
A: Both. An appointment is preferred but not essential. An appointment, however, will likely guarantee you a time slot. If you're a walk-in, there is a good chance that one of our staff will be able to immediately assist you. Of course, regardless of an appointment, there is always a possibility that there might be delays due to appointments prior to yours. We will take as long as necessary to do your design or piercing to your satisfaction and relative comfort.

Q: What if the artist doesn't work there anymore? Will the touch-up still be free?
A: Yes.

Q: Who is the best artist in your shop?
A: We are the best artist in our shop. Collectively. Every artist who works for Rock&Roll—from the most-established to the least—have their own strengths and weaknesses. We believe in working together as a team. More often than you might realize, the design being created for you is the result of several pairs of eyes or pencils having touched it. Through our open working environment, we are able to offer you the benefit of our collective vision and experience. In certain cases, if you request a design from a specific artist and we feel a different artist might be more experienced for that style, we might instead recommend you to that artist.

Q: A lot of your artists have won awards, are published, are extremely well-educated, and/or work in other mediums. Why don't you put this on your website or have this stuff hanging in your shop?
A: We'd rather let you judge us on what we can do for you, not what we've done in some gallery opening, magazine or student project. If you have questions about us or our experience, please feel free to ask us. Like most artists, we enjoy talking about ourselves and extolling our own virtues. Don't judge us on what we've accomplished, but instead on our ability to create the design you want, how you want it.
